If you can’t staff a full-time CTO, you can still have an expert on your side.

  • We can help you make the build/buy decisions, manage ineffective vendor relationships, and develop a clear long-term plan while getting the most out of your current systems.
  • You’ll be backed by experience that has delivered technology solutions across various industries, including government, healthcare, defense contracting, finance, education, membership associations, information technology, and telecom.
  • Your team will have expertise in all phases of the project including strategy, design, development, delivery, maintenance, and iterative continuous quality improvement.
  • You’ll have an expert to help you with upgrading, integrating, and extending legacy systems, developing custom software,  managing program development through evolving product offerings, and long-term technology strategy planning.
  • No hidden costs. Hourly consulting. Someone on your side to help you navigate the ever-changing technology landscape.
  • You will receive a strategic framework for technology decision-making.
  • You’ll have detailed status reports suitable for distribution to your Board.
  • You’ll have a technology expert on your team to help vet potential technology vendors.
  • Recent clients include non-profit Associations and government agencies such as Cook County Clerk’s Office, Cook County Department of Homeland Security, Independent Police Review Authority, Chicago Mayor’s Office, Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, City of Chicago Business Affairs, and Consumer Protection.

Systems

Selecting a new system to replace processes that have been around for years can be a daunting task with a lot of risks. Often the modernization of existing systems is delayed year after year, while companies wait for the ‘right time.’ Daily tasks grow more time-consuming and interoperability options with external teams become inefficient.

Whether you’re looking for a new Membership Management System, an Advocacy Platform, Fundraising, Mentoring, Accounting or any of the dozens of common systems used to run small businesses, we can help you select the best system for you. We will work with you to take the first careful steps by assessing your current and future needs and building a requirements matrix that will encompass all the features needed and desired in your new platform. We will review top-ranked industry solutions, populating the matrix as we go. Then we set up demos for the top two or three best fits for your feature needs and budget.

Integrations

Sometimes this selection process provides the kind of internal insight into existing systems that sheds light on ways to get more from what you already have. You may not need a new system at all. And if you do, we can help you map the migration from existing processes to the use of the new system, assisting with data migration and custom scripting, as needed.

We intentionally maintain no business agreements with any product vendors, which keeps us sincerely vendor agnostic. Kenney Solutions is not interested in steering you toward a specific, pre-decided solution. We will help you find what is best for you. No pre-existing business incentives exist for us to choose any package over another.

Upgrades

Often you will want to stay with the software platform you’ve been using and growing with for years and you simply need to upgrade to a more current version. However, if along the path you’ve found the need to develop custom features or changes, you may find those customizations are now roadblocks to a clean package upgrade. A successful upgrade is going to mean making decisions about what custom functionality can be achieved within the core of the new system, which can be avoided by finding a better way to do something and which will require code migration or rewriting because even in the new system there is something you have now that your staff cannot live without.
